PSYCHOTHERAPY/ASSESSMENT

Dr Mooney is a Clinical Psychologist Licensed in both Minnesota and North Dakota. Dr. Mooney Provides Psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, families and couples. A mental health diagnosis is required to bill insurance. Private Pay Options are also available. Dr. Mooney also provides court ordered Psychological Assessment and Treatment. ADULT INDIVIDUAL
PSYCHOTHERAPY

Dr. Mooney provides therapy to adults for various presenting concerns, including but not limited to: depression, anxiety obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma, relationship issues, job related concerns, coping with medical diagnosis, lifestyle changes, crisis intervention and assessment coping with stress, ADHD, and parenting struggles. Dr. Mooney uses a holistic approach with many different therapeutic models and experiential approaches focused on the therapeutic relationship and working collaboratively with clients to achieve their goals.

CHILD
PSYCHOTHERAPY

Dr. Mooney is a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor with the Association of Play Therapy. Dr. Mooney sees children for psychotherapy for an array of reasons, such as behavioral issues (caused by bullying, grief and loss, divorce and abandonment, physical and sexual abuse, and crisis and trauma) and mental health disorders (ie: anxiety, depression, attention deficit/hyperactivity or ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, academic and social impairment, physical and learning disabilities, and behavioral disorders). Dr. Mooney uses play as the primary therapeutic tool in her work with children. Play is also a large component of family therapy with young children as well. Play involves toys, games, music, art, movement, and so much more. Play is essential to health development in children and is their primary language. ADOLESCENT
PSYCHOTHERAPY

Dr. Mooney has years of experience working with adolescents and providing psychotherapeutic interventions. Dr. Mooney uses art, play, music, and movement therapies as well as talk therapy in her interventions with Adolescents. Dr. Mooney sees adolescents for a variety of presenting concerns, including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, crisis intervention and assessment, ADHD, obsessive compulsive disorders, Trauma, educational struggles, bullying, social difficulties, and family troubles.

FAMILY
PSYCHOTHERAPY

Dr. Mooney provides family therapy to families in all stages of life and for many different presenting concerns. Dr. Mooney very much enjoys supporting families in working through conflict, making changes, and building healthy and growth supporting relationships. Dr. Mooney is able to offer parenting support and co-parenting therapy for parents who are struggling or who are working through the difficulties of divorce or the ending of their relationship.

COUPLES
THERAPY

Dr. Mooney provides therapy for all couples or other romantic relationship arrangements regardless of sexuality or sexual identity. Dr. Mooney sees people for relationship therapy for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to; broken trust, mental illness, trauma, conflict resolution, or family of origin issues. Dr. Mooney believes in supporting you in working through your relationship difficulties, making goals, and making decisions about your relationship. The decisions made within the context of relationship therapy are your own.

PSYCHOLOGICAL
ASSESSMENT

Dr. Mooney is able to do a variety of psychological assessments for people of all ages. Psychological assessment may be either billable to insurance or available for self-pay depending on the assessment and referral type. However, Storybook Wellness Center is currently building our library of assessment tools. Currently, Dr. Mooney is only doing ADHD assessment for children, adolescents, and adults.  She not doing any additional psychological assessments at this time but will be very soon. Storybook Wellness acts in compliance with the No Surprises act which includes regulations which requires providers and facilities to:
 

Provide a good faith  estimate [of expected charges] to uninsured (or self-pay) individuals within the following timeframes:

(A) When a primary item or service is scheduled at least 3 business days before the date the item or service is scheduled to be furnished: Not later than 1 business day after the date of scheduling;

(B) When a primary item or service is scheduled at least 10 business days before such item or service is scheduled to be furnished: Not later than 3 business days after the date of scheduling; or

(C) When a good faith estimate is requested by an uninsured (or self-pay) individual: Not later than 3 business days after the date of the request.
